The Section Council of Chiefs is comprised of the Section Staff, the Lodge Chiefs, Lodge Advisers, and Lodge Staff Advisers. This council comes together three times per year to plan various events for the Section, most notably the Section Conclave. To help the host of the meeting, please complete and send in the COC registration form prior to the meeting.

The meeting schedule for the COC is as follows:

This meeting is always used to visit the host camp in what we call the "Pre-Conclave Visitation". The host lodge gives the section COC a tour of the camp, as well as allows us to use some space on camp for our meeting. During this meeting, we outline trainings, activities, and other major happenings at the conclave that coming spring. All the lodges are given assignments for their respective trainings, and we as a committee determine the conclave theme. It is held the Saturday on or before the 15th of October every year, unless the host lodge requests a change. This year, the meeting will be at Camp Greilick October 13, 2007 at 10:00 AM.

This meeting is used to smooth out the conclave plans. Here, the lodges all come with their training syllabi complete and we receive an update on the conclave logistics from the host lodge. It is held the first Saturday of February, usually at Camp Rotary in Clare, MI. (Registration form available here (coming soon), see typical schedule here). The meeting will begin at 10 AM.

At this meeting, we tie up any loose ends from the February meeting, and also hold our George R. DeCourcy Camping Promotions competition. Again, an update on the conclave planning process is done, and a training for the chiefs. Another key aspect of this meeting is finalizing all the trainings and often giving feedback on how to spice up trainings to make them the best they can be.
